The Cybersecurity Community introduced itself to the public for the first time as a security network for the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region with a short presentation at an event organised by the City of Mannheim’s business development department entitled “4 clusters – 1 topic: Shaping cybersecurity together”, which took place on 28 January at the MARCHIVUM in Mannheim.
SAMA PARTNERS, represented by Dr Ali Mabrouk and Christopher Beck, together with other founding members of the Cybersecurity Community – the companies CAIRO AG, anapur AG, Actemium, Axians and the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences – presented the mission, goals, offers and working groups of this security network.
The regional cybersecurity community, which is organised under the umbrella of the Smart Industries network of the City of Mannheim’s Economic Development Agency, has set itself the goal of serving as a central point of contact for companies in the region in order to strengthen cybersecurity in a holistic manner. It aims to address the areas of IT, OT and supply chain security and support companies with a comprehensive range of services.
We would like to thank Sandra Link from the Smart Industries Network for the opportunity to present the cybersecurity community to a wider audience, as well as Christiane Ram (Head of the Economic and Structural Development Department of the City of Mannheim) and Thorsten Riehle (Mayor of Mannheim for Economic Affairs, Labour, Social Affairs and Culture) for their words of welcome and support for this initiative.
The official kick-off of the cybersecurity community will take place on 19 March at MAFINEX in Mannheim. The aim of the kick-off event, which is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies in the region, is to identify the needs of these companies with regard to cybersecurity. Companies that would like to join the community and contribute their expertise are also very welcome! More information on the kick-off event is available on the Smart Industries Network event website.
